13.1 Ash Winn told us that Honda  are putting money in for a come and try date at Broadford for all divisions. MA have hired all the circuits at Broadford for people to try them all information is on Broadford web site and MA web site

13.4 Spoke about running a Big Solo Day on the day after Bacchus Marsh and looking at running a Big Open Sidecar Day in 2009. Matt Barnard asked is it possible to run a Big Solo and Big Sidecar Day on the one day

13.5 Ray Radford spoke about a series that may be run at Mildura – Broken Hill and suggested that they run a 3rd round at Broadford

13.6 Jon Lowe has improved a lot he is allowed to have visitors or you can ring him at the Austin and ask for Jon Lowe

13.7 to Doug Cottrell the committee and members wish him well on his recovery

13.4 Ken Walker spoke about the Best of the Best meeting at Gilman. They are selling off the heats and he asked would we like to buy a heat at $250.00 in the name of the SSRAV. Gus Seeger seconded it that we would buy two heats and everybody at the meeting was in favour of the idea

13.5 It is with sadness that we learnt of the passing of Tom Patterson’s’ wife Judy. We wish Tom our condolences and hope he is well

13.6 Gary Timmerman told the story on Jon Lowe that he is in a bad way and is going into hospital for a major operation. Everybody in the club would like to wish him well and a speedy recovery

13.7 Don’t forget if you haven’t paid your membership you are unfinancial and this is your last minutes

13.6 Jon Lowe asked Peter Vipond how Dave Cottrell was going and Peter said he is good as could be expected and he has more treatment to go. Jon said to pass on the clubs best wishes

13.7 Gary Timmerman said that one of our Broadford members Justin Sedgman is going overseas to ride in the juniors and could the club afford to support him with a donation of $200 a motion was moved by Gary Timmerman and seconded by Jon Lowe carried unanimously

13.8 Management committee is sending out letters to all the clubs for expression of interest to run a title meeting. Gary asked do we apply for any of the titles or not. The general opinion was that we should put in for one of the titles

13.9 Jon Lowe said that any members with any ideas for through out the year please put them forward including presentation night

13.10 Next meeting will be the AGM followed by the normal meeting

·         Last meeting at Broadford (Club Day) poor turn out. We will have to look at the Saturday meetings next year as they may not be working out

·         Round 7 changed from 10 May 2008 to Sunday 18 May 2008; last round for the season. Nominees close on Saturday 17 May 2008. There will be sashes for Broadford series presented. Gary to get sashes

·         Look at double points rounds for next season

·         We discussed the Ivan Mauger Golden Helmet series

·         Presentation night; look at whether they have photo board at Furlong Club. Any members with photos or memorabilia for display please contact the committee. Look at hiring a big screen TV for the presentation night. We have to organise DJ for the presentation night and Ray Radford will look into it

·         Committee meeting next month is on the Wednesday 14 May 2008 followed by Broadford on the Sunday then presentation night the following weekend

·         Trophy winners for the highest point score and handicap of  last year  to hand back the trophy by the next meeting so we can get them engraved

·         Practice  Days; 22 June, 20 July, 23 August, 31 August, 20 September and 15 November 2008

PRESENTATION NIGHT

 CELEBRATING 35 YEARS

 ON THE 24 MAY 2008

AT THE FURLAN CLUB

 1 MATISI STREET, THORNBURY

 

13.3 Last meeting junior track was much better. After the last club day we have some dirt to go on the track.

13.4 A suggestion was made at committee level that if different class’ can raise sponsorship dollars to put on their class for the Broadford Series which may help with numbers for their class, it is just one idea like the double points rounds. Anybody with any ideas put them forward and the members can vote on them.

13.5 We are also looking at running some of our meetings at other tracks under lights.

13.6 Jon Lowe spoke about the Ivan Mauger Series but the committee thought it would be better to run a state title or something similar. The members were unanimous that we should tell Ivan Mauger thank you for the offer but no thanks.

13.7 Anybody who hasn’t booked for PRESENTATION NIGHT please give Gary a call..

13.8 The club wants to send there best wishes to Dave Cottrelll and hope he has a speedy recovery and also like to send our best wishes to Ray Wason after his fall and hope he has a speedy recovery too.
